]]>Are you interested in playing around with Macro Photography for under $100?
Lately I have been questioned about my macro photography over social media and the setup I used to get the shots! To be honest, its a pretty inexpensive setup! I use lenses I already own in my camera bag. The two types of lenses I use mostly is the Sony 18-70mm F/3.5-5.6 DT (Minimum Focus Distance: 1.2') & a Sony DT 55-200mm f/4-5.6 SAM Lens (Minimum Focus Distance: 3.1). I use the Sony 55-200mm for shots of bees and insects so I can have some distance. The 18-70mm lens I use mostly for plants. These lenses are nothing fancy and I purchased them for under $200 each years ago. I use my crop sensor bodies to shoot Macro Photography which is the Sony a77II & Sony a77.
Now, I partner these two lenses with a set of VELLO Auto Extension Tubes! The Auto Extension Tube set contains three extension tubes of 13mm, 20mm, and 36mm lengths. The focusing distance is shortened so the effect of magnifying your subject is created. They have full autofocus compatibility and you can use the tubes individually or the combination of all three to create a greater magnification.
You don't have to be a professional photographer to use these. These are great for amateur and hobbyist photographers.
Here are two of my examples of pairing my Sony DT 55-200mm with all three extension tubes shot with my Sony a77II.

I also will use a 58mm Polaroid Studio Series 2.2X Macro Attachment on my lenses to get even closer. Another inexpensive way to get the most of your macro photography for under $100! Here is an example of how close I got to this lantana bud with my Sony 18-70mm + all three VELLO extension tubes + the Polaroid Studio Series Macro attachment.

I purchased the Polaroid Studio Series in 2013 & the VELLO Extension Tubes in 2016 and both products have never failed and are easy to use and operate. They have held there own rattling around in my camera bag among other lenses and gear over the years.
I have really enjoyed using the combination of VELLO Extension Tubes with the Polaroid Studio Series Macro Attachment for my Macro photography and highly recommend these items if you are looking for a inexpensive way to get close up shots!

You will notice a new look, new logo, and new prices on my website....lots of new and exciting changes for me! I have also made some life changes as I am now working full time during the week at Bethel College in North Newton which means my photography business is now part time on the weekends and I am limited on dates and times this year for sessions.
If you are interested in scheduling a session for 2016 (even if it is later this year) please contact me and get on my calendar ASAP as dates/times will be filling up quickly since I can only do so many session this year.

Callie & Cameron had such a sweet and unique outdoor summer wedding this evening at a pheasant ranch in Mcpherson, KS. They had the most adorable attire, Groom & Groomsmen in suspenders with bow ties and Callie's Wedding gown had a touch of vintage style with its short cut and floral pattern topped off with the cutest little veil/hair piece. We found a shady little area on the ranch property for pictures and I just love the LOVE in this one! ~Cassandra

My first newborn of 2015! Introducing the most adorable baby girl....Miss Mackenzie! Not only did I get the pleasure of photographing this little beauty, but I also got to photograph her Mommy's maternity session with her family. I was so excited to meet her! I absolutely adore Megan & Justin and LOVE their little dog Ace! They are so sweet together and perfect as a little family. We met up at East Lake for their engagement session on a warm beautiful day...which ended just in time with a storm quickly approaching. They were so easy to work with and Ace was such a charmer. Ace lost his eye in a dog attack but is still beautiful. Megan & Justin wanted to show how much they adore him in their session. I have been taking Brooklyn's photos since she was just itty bitty! Now she is 4....where has the time gone? We changed up our location for this shoot for a more rustic look. It's Throw Back Thursday and I thought a little nod to my Sony a330 would be just right for today! As my very first DSLR, I learned SO much from this little gal. She taught me about photography in a way I never expected! She traveled with me everywhere capturing the good, the bad, and the down right ugly, lol! This was a great starter camera and the perfect learning tool for me as a self-taught photographer....and has left its mark on me with the Sony brand! I have tried Canon and Nikon cameras, but have always turned back to Sony...what I know, what I learned with, what feels comfortable in my hands...it's my home! ~Cassandra

]]>"Hey, go pose it out in that pile of road asphalt!" Simply AH-MA-ZING! Yes, that is my beautiful younger sis and the reason I have a photography business today!! She is and always will be my #1 Model! Oh, did I forget to mention this was taken with a 7MP Polaroid point & shoot camera...YES, just goes to show you don't need an expensive camera and tons of equipment to make an awesome image! This was before I upgraded to my very first "baby" DSLR and was still figuring out what the heck I was doing...and yet still rocked it...with a point & shoot! ~Cassandra
In 2012 JC Kirk from Old 81 Studios and myself brought together our best skills to make 2 very unique and beautiful images! JC is an AMAZING & very skilled photographer. He captured these two studio images of his daughter against a green backdrop. These images were great on their own, but I took them to the next level transforming them into eye catching images & works of art with my editing skills & technique. We truly make a great team combining our talents! It maybe time for JC and I to do another photo project...it has been way to long! ~ Cassandra

Hello!
My name is Adrianna and I would like to thank you in advance for your interest in me as your photographer. I am a photographer here at Strikker Images and love it so much. I am a mother of a 5 year old son named Alex and he is the light of my life. I thank god everyday that I have him in my life. He is the reason I have developed a love for photography. I have captured many memories of him from the day he was born up until now. I enjoy being able to have those photos to look back and reflect on my favorite past times. That is my hope for my clients as well.
I work full time as a CNA and am currently working towards becoming a registered nurse. I believe photographs are important because they are a way of holding onto that moment after its gone and a way of being able to remember those who have gone before us. The love of photography allows me to meet new people and get to know their families and gives me endless opportunities. I enjoy getting to know my clients as we shoot it becomes so much more than just a job to me. I look forward to working with many new and existing clients!
